Creating an LACCD where everyone can thrive, not just survive
I’m Adriana Cabrera, an educator, community organizer, first-generation Latina, and proud daughter of South Central Los Angeles.
For nearly 20 years, I have turned lived experience into action: building programs, organizing communities, expanding access to education, and helping people navigate systems that were never made easy for families like mine.
I was raised by parents who worked as costureros, and by the legacy of grandparents who were farmworkers. My parents had a 2nd-grade level of education, but they gave me lessons no classroom could replace: sacrifice, resilience, faith, and the responsibility to open doors for the next generation.

Why I’m Running
I’m running for Los Angeles Community College District Board of Trustees, Seat 2 because I believe LACCD should be one of the strongest engines of opportunity in Los Angeles.
For me, this campaign is about opening the door wider:
For the student trying to figure out what comes next.
For the parent who wants to return to school.
For the worker ready for a new career.
For the undocumented student wondering if college is possible.
For the first-generation family trying to navigate a system they were never handed a map to.
I have spent my life turning barriers into pathways, confusion into access, and survival into service.
